Oh feh. I just read that the Jewish month of Adar is associated with fertility, because the astral sign of Adar is the fish, and fish are considered extremely fertile. :Þ
At least it makes for a good Purim joke for infertiles.
Yes, and Tishrei is a good month for fertility because we read about Sarah and Chana on Rosh Hashana...and Sivan is a good month for fertility because all Jewish souls were present at Sinai and this is the time when they yearn to take form on our plane...and Nissan is particularly good for infertiles because it's a month of miracles and transcending the physical...
In that case, just seems like the Jewish Year is a good time for fertility. Since you've lived through all those months before though, guess "good for" wasn't "good enough." :-(
Segulahs aren't magic charms, obviously, and it would be a good thing if people stopped offering them as such, huh?
--Another clueless fertile, trying to educate herself, and offering the only thing she can: her prayers on your behalf.
I'm an Orthodox Jew on the IVF road to, well, somewhere. Hopefully parenthood. We're dealing with age, male infertility, Orthodoxy, finances, in-laws and one neurotic dog.
::Note::
Please do not use me as a guideline for Jewish practice. I am always learning, and what is okay in my community, might not be okay in yours. I'm happy to answer your questions, bearing in mind you should always consult your Rav for the standards of your community.
Also, if you think you know who I am, please don't wave hi. My ability to speak freely is important to me, so I don't want to know that you know. Todah rabah.

(Can you tell I'm not buying it?)
All falls under the category of "segula" for me!
Although, apparently, if you eat the fish... ;)
